Since being founded in 2000, SurfAid’s programs in Indonesia* have been saving thousands of lives in isolated communities in the Mentawai and Nias islands off West Sumatra. Programs include malaria prevention, water and sanitation, health and nutrition, and emergency preparedness to respond to events such as the 2004 tsunami.

* SurfAid International is incorporated in the USA, Australia and New Zealand. The field program offices are in Padang, West Sumatra; Tuapejat, the regional capital of the Mentawai Islands; and Gunungsitoli, the capital of Nias.
